HAIL TO THE CHIEF: GRADES 3 THROUGH 5

Students learn the six jobs that every U.S. President must fulfill. The history of the song “Hail To the Chief” is explored. Benjamin Harrison enactor Ed Myers speaks to the participants.

THE CONSTITUTION AND YOU: GRADES 3 THROUGH 8

Should we call the United States government a Democracy? Students learn how our system of government came to be and exactly what form of government we have. Activities involve students in active citizenship.

THE EVERYDAY LIFE OF A CIVIL WAR SOLDIER: GRADES 3 THROUGH 8

Students review Harrison’s wartime letters and the diary of Confederate soldier John Weatherred. The causes of the war and the realities of a soldier’s life are analyzed. Students break into teams to answer questions.

OLD TIPPECANOE REMEMBERS THE BATTLE

Students listen to William Henry Harrison's personal account of the Battle of Tippecanoe. The first person re-enactor remembers the events of the engagement and answers students' questions. Includes short biography of one of history's most important figures.
